Dr. Hashim S. Hussein

Head of UNIDO-ITPO/ARCEIT

Dr. Hussein has rich experience in the field of industrial development for the last seventeen years. He obtained his doctorate from University of Maryland in the year 1989. He holds a PhD from the Centre for International Development and Conflict Management (CIDCM) at the University of Maryland under award arrangement between Universite de Nantes and CIDCM. He has worked at various responsibility levels in different countries like USA, Egypt, Sudan and the Kingdom of Bahrain. He joined UNIDO in 1993 as a Junior Professional Officer posted in Bahrain to become in 1996 the Head of ITPO Bahrain.

Mr. Afif M. Barhoumi

ARCEIT Program Coordinator/Investment Promotion Expert

On graduating in 1994 with a BS in Business-Computer Mr.Barhoumi established his own company dealing with mobile accessories. He went on to work with the Investment Development Authority of Lebanon (IDAL) from 1995 to 1999. During his employment at IDAL he completed his Masters degree from the Lebanese American University and had the chance to join the UNIDO delegate program where he was posted at the UNIDO-ITPO Milan. Upon resigning from IDAL Mr. Barhoumi worked as a marketing and commercial consultant for Investcom. In early 2000, he joined UNIDO-ITPO Italy and was posted in Lebanon as a national consultant covering Lebanon, Syria and Jordan. In mid 2003, he joined the UNIDO-ITPO Bahrain in the capacity of Investment Promotion Expert and the Program Coordinator for ARCEIT.

Mr. Iyad Kurdi

Investment Promotion Officer and Business Counselor

Mr. Iyad Kurdi graduated with a BS in Business Administration and Marketing from International University of Vienna and worked as an intern for 8 months in the Arab program at UNIDO headquarter in Vienna.  He joined UNIDO-ITPO Bahrain as Investment Promotion Officer and Business Counselor in 2007.

Mr. Filippo Egizii

Investment Promotion Officer and Business Counselor

Mr. Filippo Egizii graduated with a BS in Entrepreneurship and Finance from Babson College in the United States. After graduation he worked in asset management in New York as well as corporate finance and restructuring in Italy. He joined UNIDO-ITPO Bahrain as Investment Promotion Officer and Business Counselor in 2008.

Mr. Maytham Abbas

Financial Analyst

Maytham Abbas graduated with a BA in Economics & Physics from McGill University in Canada. After graduation he worked in the strategy consulting division of BDO-Jawad Habib (Bahrain) leaving after a year to study in Syria. He returned back to Bahrain a year later to become the financial analyst in UNIDO where he works on Investment Project Preparation and Appraisal and offers business counseling services.

Ms. Ghadeer Al Sayed

Investment Promotion Assistant

Ghadeer Al Sayed graduated with a BA in Political Studies and Philosophy from Trent University in Canada. Having already interned in UNIDO during her studies upon graduation she took up a full time position as business councilor, where she aids in the administration of ARCEIT’s EDP program and offers counseling services to businesses in the start-up phase of their growth.

Ms. Hiba Ala’ali

Graduate in BA in Community Services Sociology from the University of Bahrain. As a fresh graduate worked as a trainee at the Bahrain Psychiatric hospital later joined the family business to gain more experience in office management. Currently working as a Secretary with UNIDO ITPO Bahrain from April 2003, assisting the Head and other senior staff in day to day activities.

Mr.Redah Baqer

Administrative Assistant - Arceit

Mr. Ghulum graduated from secondary school in 1988. He went on to work as an electrician until in 1993 he took up an appointment as an administrative assistant in one of Bahrain’s most prestigious private hospitals. He continued working there simultaneously taking relevant courses until he joined UNIDO in

Mr. Mohamed Mubarak

Office clerk

Prior to joining UNIDO Mr. Mubarak spent 13 years working as clearing personnel with the UNDP-Bahrain. Mr.Mubarak aids in document clearance, administration and is often the smiling chauffer ARCEIT’s guests first meet at the airport.
