Bahrain/Arab Model transferred to the Republic of China

Under the umbrella of South-South Cooperation, the People’s Republic of China has officially adopted the Bahrain-Arab Model in Entrepreneurship development devised by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, Bahrain. This was portrayed in the signing ceremony that took place at the United Nations Pavilion during the Shanghai 2010 World Expo between HE Shaikh Ebrahim Bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Chairman of ARCEIT  advisory board; Mr. Uramoto, UNIDO Director; and the Director of the China International Center for Economic and Technical Exchanges.

The ceremony was attended by a gathering of Chinese dignitaries, officials, representatives of Chinese Universities, technology centers and UN officials in addition to Dr. Hashim Hussein, Head of UNIDO Bahrain.

The signed agreement stipulates that UNIDO through its office in Bahrain will develop the capacities of Chinese experts to be able to manage and implement the Bahrain-Arab Model in China and provide its services to potential Chinese entrepreneurs through the first established center in Beijing. Hence; it is to be followed by 31 other centers enabling the provision of these services to all regions of China. It is worth noting that the Chinese government will fund this Model through ARCEIT and is expected to be operational July of this year.
